In May 2016, a group of eleven women left the village of Vinhais, in northern Portugal, on a pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Fatima. Over nine days and more than 400 kilometers, they cross half the country to fulfill their promises, but the exhaustion, the rain and the differences of opinion will cause constant tensions between them. Mixing reality and fiction, director João Canijo's latest film is based on the improvisation of his female cast to tell a story of faith, physical suffering and redemption. Fatima focuses mainly on the dynamics of its protagonists, each of whom has its own motivation and spiritual baggage when embarking on the journey.
